DFG: Data Sharing Policy

Deutsche Forschungsgemeinshaft

2021

The DFG is the central self-governing research funding organization in Germany, serving the sciences and humanities at universities and non-university research institutions. The DFG funds research projects, creates competitive opportunities and conducts procedures for the review, evaluation, selection and decision of research proposals. It helps shape the overall conditions and standards of academic research.

Challenge

DFG was seeking to refine its policy and implementation strategy for research sample identifiers. This work was funded through a contract with DFG.

Solution

Mighty Red Barn supported a 3-day community roundtable discussion focused on research data sharing policy, namely implementation of data sample identifiers.  We partnered with the DFG program manager on the workshop agenda, created an online collaborative whiteboard, and facilitated the workshop conversation.

Deliverables

Collaborative White Board, Facilitated Workshop, Short Summary Report
